Well, this should be interesting. A page, huh? Okay some folks have pointed out that there is no about me or contact info here. So here goes.
I spent over 6 years at Sierra doing mostly installation packaging and writing the odd in-house tool. Mostly it was playing games and drinking a lot of free soda. But sufficite it to say it was development work. I survived many rounds of lay-offs until I got hit in the next to last round before they closed the doors on the place.
With an insane amount of severence in my pocket and nothing but free time I met up with the love of my life and began to court her. I moved in to her 1 bedroom studio - I wanted to be close, REALLY REALLY close. And when I asked her to marry me - first time in fact - she said yes.
That’s about the time reality set it. I needed a job! So much searching later I landed my current job as a Senior Software Engineer where, while I still have a role as installation packaging and building, I’m developing tools and management software for our distributed banking system.
My dream is to get the entire system managed from end to end. Make sure it runs on Mono. Then create live CDs for each of the server roles our system has.
I think BIG sometimes.
