I got a spam today with the topic “SuSE TeamLatest release”. But it was from WikiStub and started with “Letter shown due technical built. Webserver listening external….” So it was obviously spam.. that and gmail marked it as such, helps.
Getting craftier.. they’re actually starting to send emails that I might actually look at. Or at least on topic.

My plans are in full swing. In the office today I heard people talking about Moon Pie’s out of the blue. I hadn’t even tested my theory on anyone at work yet. And these people didn’t read my blog. Hrmmm…
Now I know there’s a name for the idea that once you start thinking about something you notice it everywhere. Like when you’re thinking of buying a new car you see that particular model all over the city.
But I’m going to shurk that idea for the moment. I’ll imagine that my choice of the Moon Pie was vague enough not to normally pop up randomly like so many cars on the road.
Oh.. and MonoCast Episode 4 is out! Check it out.
I’m going to interview Miguel tonight about the new Novell/Microsoft blood pact. We’ll see what’s what.

Ever been walking along and you think of something totally obscure from your past.. like an old tv show or something… and then suddenly everyone you know is talking about it? And suddenly it’s going to be rereleased to DVD and the latest movie to be remade.
Isn’t it odd how we all seem to think the same things at around the same time. I don’t know whether it’s a product of carefully implemented marketing or what. But it’s a creepy feeling.
So, here’s my idea. Let’s start our own Meme. A MoonPie Meme.
Everyone reading this. Make it a point to go out and get some MoonPies. Then eat it were someone can see you. At work.. on the bus. Maybe even comment how good it is. But don’t let on anymore beside that.
Let’s see how long it takes for MoonPies to suddenly become a national hit again.
Interesting. No?
Mmmmm this is a good MoonPie

It was extremely cool. Boston was amazing. Novell was fun. Google was gracious. And everyone who attended the conference was spectacular.
I want to go into more detail but I just got home and I’m totally beat. 10 hours of flying and lay overs just takes it outta me… and my ass.
But, check www.mono-cast.com for information, including the keynote. And Monologue for info as well.

Well, I got a hold of UPS to see if I could just pick up the package on Saturday if it was just going to sit in a warehouse in town till Monday. I got some southern lady who sounded ticked off and she said “NO, you may not pick up your package it is scheduled for delivery on Monday. Have a good day.” Click.
Then I spent an hour and a half on hold with Overnight(not)Prints. Finally I got shipping and they said they couldn’t change the delivery date or location - not true… I checked UPSs site - but I let it go. They refunded the shipping. Which is good. It’s over half the cost.
When all was said and done the guy says “Sorry we were late by a DAY.” in a sort of “what ever” voice. I said “Okay, thanks.” because I was done and I was in the middle of finishing some code so I could go home. But that kind of annoyed me a few minutes later when it sunk in. “.. late by a DAY.” Normally I can be understanding about ship times - even though I hit refresh on the package tracking over and over. But when your business model is all about.. Hrmm what was it? “Overnight”
The good news? I stopped by CJs place and picked up another pair of headphones and a video camera. Hopefully I’ll get some good stuff from the conference and some interviews to boot.
Tomorrow… get Digital tapes for the camera, get glossy card stock for the lame business cards I have to print myself - fortunately they send you an image file of your soon to be printed cards so I’ll just print some up. And.. hrmm I guess I don’t need anything else. Would’ve liked that 2 gigs of ram though.

So, I wanted to get business cards for MonoCast to take to the Mono Conference on Monday. So… I looked around and got a refereal from the podcasting underground to use Overnight Prints.
Great I thought… I’m cutting it close. But their site says if I order before 5 pm PST It’ll print “over night” and be shipped the next day. And then I sprung for the insanely over priced next day air. So.. technically I’d get it today. Friday. The last business day I’ll be in town before going to the conference.
I thought… hrmm this is pretty critical. It’d be my luck to get totally screwed here. I need these cards right away and I’m paying a lot for them. Afterwards they’ll be usuless. But hey.. they’re “Overnight Printing” it says so right on their site. What could go wrong?
I think you know where I’m going here…
I get an email notice today that my order is complete and they’ve submitted the billing information to UPS. WTF?! Hasn’t even shipped yet!
So yeah… what more is there to say. Accept… Overnight Printing, isn’t.

Well, Episode 2 of MonoCast went out. I stayed up much to late again in post production. This one is a lot longer because I’ve got an interview mixed in finally and I”m not just biting news off monologue.
Next up.. heading to the Mono User and Developer Conference in Boston. I’m going to take some of Cj’s equipment and hopefully I can get interviews and video of the event.
This just in.. I plugged in my Nano just now and it told me firmware 1.3 was out. It says “blah bla blah Nike blah blah. ” and then just “Bug Fixes” I’m hoping the “Bug Fixes” is the issue I’m - hell everyone - is having with podcasts. I blogged about it earlier in the week. I’ll have a listen tonight and tomorrow and we’ll see what’s what.
Bonus.. there’s a new Tenacious D video up on iTunes for free and you can pre-order the new album. I haven’t watched the video yet. But.. Cool.

Worked late into the night with Rob Loach on getting the whole Skype recording thing down. Hopefully it will go off without a hitch next time I need to use it for the show.
I was hoping to get Rob and Dave Hudson from the Tao Framwork on the next show but Dave didn’t have Skype equipment. Forgot that you can Skype out until the end of the year for free.
I’m quickly trying to line up alternatives for the next show and I’ve bumped Tao off till the following show.
Woop, good times.
